Made a mistake or need a different track? You can replace your music file until the end of the day before the event starts, and remove it while entries are still open.
Replacing a Music File
While entries are open, from the entry form:
- Open the entry you want to update
- In the music upload section, click the Replace button
- Select a new MP3 or WAV file (drag-and-drop or browse)
- The new file replaces the old one. All quality and duration checks run again
- Save the entry
At any time until the music deadline, including after entries have closed, from the studio portal's Music page:
- Find the entry in its section
- Click Replace (or Upload if it has no music yet) and pick the file
- The file is checked against the section's time limit, uploaded, and attached to the entry
The old file is automatically replaced and deleted. You do not need to remove it first. If the entry's section is on stage at that moment, the page asks before you continue: the music team keeps the old track for the current play-through and switches to the new file after it.
Removing a Music File
While entries are open:
- Open the entry
- In the music upload section, click the Remove button
- The music file is cleared from the entry
- You can upload a new file or leave it empty (note: if music is required, you will need to upload before submitting)
After entries close a file cannot be removed, only replaced, so every entry keeps a playable track for the event day.
When You Cannot Change Music
You cannot replace music if:
- The event has started: music closes at the end of the day before the event starts
- The entry has been withdrawn
You cannot remove music once entries have closed: a file can only be replaced with a new version, so every entry that has music keeps music through to the event day. Before entries close, remove it from the entry form if you need to.
If you need to change music after the deadline, contact the event organiser directly. They can update music for any entry at any time.
Tips
- Always preview your track using the built-in audio player before saving
- If you upload the wrong file, replace it immediately. Do not wait until event day
- Check the duration and quality badges to make sure you are uploading the correct, high-quality version of your track
