Dance competition software

Dance competition software that runs the whole event

Kompdesk takes a dance competition from first entry to final award in one platform. Studios register and enter online, the schedule is generated from your sections, judges score live on their own devices, and results publish the moment a section is complete.

Registration and entries

Open registration with a link. Studios, independent dancers and parents register, add dancers and submit entries against the age groups, styles, levels and performance types you define. Fees are calculated automatically and every payment is tracked.

  • Studio, independent dancer and parent registration
  • Age groups calculated the way your event rules require
  • Custom questions on the entry form
  • Entry deadlines that lock entries automatically

Scheduling

The Schedule Builder places your sections day by day, works out every start time from the entry counts and durations, and moves everything below when you change one item. Run one stage or several rooms at once.

  • Day by day timeline with breaks and markers
  • Durations suggested from entry counts
  • Shareable live schedule links for studios and spectators

Judging and results

Each judge scores in a dedicated portal using your scorecards and criteria. Battles and placement rounds are built in, scores keep working through a dropped connection, and results, awards and certificates follow without spreadsheets.

  • Custom scorecards with comments
  • Battle knockout and placement voting
  • Offline score sync
  • Instant results, awards, certificates and best studio standings

Event day

The tech team plays every routine from the music dashboard, the MC follows the running order, dancers are checked in, and spectators buy tickets online or at the door.

  • Music upload per entry and tech team playback
  • Music pre-loaded on the playback device, so a venue Wi-Fi failure does not stop the show
  • MC portal and live schedule
  • Dancer check-in and door check-in for tickets

When the day does not go to plan

A dancer who is not ready, or who arranged to perform at another time, does not hold the section up. Judges score them from an out of section list on their own section's scorecard, and the organiser decides whether they can still place.

  • Skip a dancer and score them later
  • Book dancers into out of section slots on the schedule
  • Clear rules for placement, medals and certificates

Questions

What if the venue Wi-Fi fails during the event?

Judges keep scoring and the scores sync when the connection returns. The tech team can load every track onto the playback device beforehand, so music keeps playing without a connection.

How long does it take to set up a competition?

The event wizard walks step by step through basics, venue, ticketing, age groups, styles, levels, performance types, durations, sections, fees, scoring and awards, and you can preview the event in demo mode before publishing. Your first Bronze token is free and covers an event of up to 150 entries over 2 days.

Do studios have to pay to use Kompdesk?

No. Studios, dancers, parents and spectators use Kompdesk for free. Organisers pay per event with an event token.

Can we run more than one stage at once?

Yes. A schedule can hold several stages, each with its own days and running order.
