Registering an event is what tells the organiser your child is taking part. Entries, which are the individual routines, come afterwards, either from the studio or from the child's own event portal.
Before You Register
You need at least one dancer on your account, created or claimed. Browse Events shows a warning with a link to add one if your account is empty.
Step 1: Find the Event
Open Events. The list is in three sections:
| Section | What Is In It |
|---|---|
| Your Events | Events one of your dancers is already registered for |
| Other Events | Everything else still open |
| Past Events | Events that have finished |
Search by event name, venue, or organiser to narrow the list. Green badges on a card show which of your children are already registered for that event.
Step 2: Register
Press Register on the event card.
- If you are viewing one child, the button says Register (their name) and takes you straight to the event's registration page.
- If you are viewing all dancers, you are asked which child. Anyone already registered is listed with a Registered badge instead of a button, so you can see at a glance who is still to do.
Complete the registration details on the event page and submit. Your child's details are filled in for you.
Studio or Independent
- Linked to a studio: they are registered under that studio, and the studio can add them to entries.
- No studio: the event registers them as an independent dancer where the event allows it. If the event does not accept independent dancers, the event page says so.
Step 3: After Registering
- The event moves into Your Events with a badge naming the registered child
- The dashboard card for that child now shows the event and an Open (name)'s event button
- Tapping an event card opens that event's Parent/Guardian view, which lists your registered dancers and takes you into each one's event portal
Registering More Than One Child
Register each child in turn. The which-child list keeps track: anyone already in is shown as Registered.
Tips
- Register early: events close registration on their entries close date
- Check the details: date of birth drives age group placement
- Consent: a minor may need guardian consent before taking part. See "Guardian Consent for Minors"
