Quick Steps
- Open Events in your Parent/Guardian Portal
- Find the competition, in Other Events or by searching
- Press Register on its card
- Pick which child, if you are viewing all of them
- Complete the registration details on the event page and submit
The event then appears under Your Events with a badge naming the registered child, and on that child's dashboard card.
Common Questions
Q: The Register button asks me to pick a child every time.
A: That happens while the header is on All dancers. Pick one child in the Viewing chips and the button reads "Register (their name)" and goes straight there.
Q: Can I register more than one child for the same event?
A: Yes. Register them one at a time. In the which-child list, anyone already registered shows a Registered badge instead of a button.
Q: My child is with a studio. Should I register, or should the studio?
A: Either works. If the studio is registered for the event they can add your child themselves. Registering here does not stop them, and it does not create a second dancer.
Q: My child has no studio. Can they still take part?
A: Where the event accepts independent dancers, yes, and the event page registers them that way. Where it does not, the event page says so.
Q: I do not have a Parent/Guardian option when registering from the event link.
A: Choosing Parent/Guardian on an event page grants the role and hands you to your portal to create or claim a dancer first, then brings you back to the event. If that did not happen, sign in and open /portal/guardian directly.
Q: What happens after I register?
A: Your child's dashboard card shows the event with an Open (their name)'s event button. Inside that portal are their schedule, entries, and results as the organiser releases them.
Q: Does registering enter my child in routines?
A: No. Registration says they are taking part. Entries, the individual routines, are added afterwards by the studio, or from the child's own event portal for an independent dancer.
