Wizard Step 9: Section Configuration

Create competition sections from combinations of age groups, styles, levels, and performance types.

This step is optional but recommended. Sections are the core of your competition structure. They define what competitors can enter.

What Is a Section?

A section is a unique combination of:

  • Age Group (e.g., Junior)
  • Style (e.g., Contemporary)
  • Level (e.g., Competitive)
  • Performance Type (e.g., Solo)

Example section: Junior Contemporary Competitive Solo

Each entry at your competition belongs to exactly one section.

Adding Sections

Add individually:

  1. Select an Age Group from the dropdown
  2. Select a Style from the dropdown
  3. Select a Level from the dropdown
  4. Select a Performance Type from the dropdown
  5. Click "Add Section"

Add all combinations:
Click "Add All Combinations" to automatically create every possible section from your selected age groups, styles, levels, and performance types. For example, if you have 3 age groups, 4 styles, 2 levels, and 3 types, this creates up to 72 sections.

Managing Sections

  • Sections are displayed in a scrollable table (paginated at 50 per page)
  • Each section shows its Age Group, Style, Level, and Performance Type
  • Click the × button to remove a section
  • Click "Clear All" to remove all sections at once
  • A counter shows the number of valid sections vs. the maximum possible

Important Notes

  • Duplicate sections are automatically prevented
  • If you remove an age group, style, level, or performance type in an earlier step, any sections using that item are automatically removed
  • Sections you create here determine what studios and dancers can register for
  • You can always add or remove sections from the Event Dashboard later
