This step is optional. Every setting has a sensible default, so you can walk
past it and change your mind later in the Event Editor under Entry Settings.
It walks between Sections and Registration fees. Added 2026-08-19: these
controls used to be split between the Fees step and the Sections step, and two of
them had no wizard control at all.
Allow independent dancers (default: on)
When off, only dancers affiliated with a registered studio can enter this event.
The independent dancer option is hidden from the registration page and
independent registration attempts are blocked. Turning this off later does not
remove independent dancers who are already registered.
Allow entry notes (default: on)
Entry forms include a notes box where studios and dancers can leave a message for
you on each entry, for example a prop request or a costume change. When off, the
notes box is hidden on every entry form for this event. Notes already saved on
existing entries are kept.
Allow a dancer to enter the same section more than once for solos (default: off)
When on, the same dancer may have multiple solo entries, each a different routine,
within the same section. Group entries (duos, trios, and so on) are unaffected as
they already allow shared dancers. Battle types stay one entry per dancer per
section either way.
If you allow this, see also the one placement per dancer setting on the
Scoring step, which decides whether both of that dancer's entries can place.
Only allow entries in the sections you have configured (default: off)
By default a section is created automatically the first time anyone enters a
routine for a combination, so studios effectively choose their own sections. When
on, your Sections list is the complete set: an entry that does not match one of
those sections is refused, and new sections can only be added by you. This applies
to organisers and admins too.
Age groups are worked out from the dancers' ages, so leave a section for every age
group you expect, or entries you meant to accept will be turned away.
