The Statistics page shows your provider's Store Analytics table once the organiser has chosen a sales model for your provider. Until then the page says your provider is not shown to families yet, and the Overview page says families see nothing yet. Other providers at the same event have tables of their own, which you do not see.
Reading the Table
There is one row for each item that has had any activity, and a total. General has a row of its own. An item nobody has opened yet is not listed.
| Column | Counts |
|---|---|
| Preview views | Times the watermarked previews of the item were opened |
| Deliveries | Clean originals handed to people entitled to them |
| Purchases | Completed sales of the item |
| Link clicks | Times a visitor followed the purchase link to an outside site |
A high number of preview views with few purchases or clicks usually means the item is being found, and the price or the selection is what is holding people back.
The numbers are kept after the media itself is removed at 12 months.
Purchase Links to Your Own Site
This applies only when the organiser chose for your provider to sell through its own website. The table then has a Purchase link column, with Open beside each item that has one. The links themselves are added on the Upload page:
- Under Add a purchase link for a routine, a section or a day, choose One routine (by entry number), A whole section, A whole day or General, then the routine, section or day
- Paste the full address of that routine's gallery on your site, starting with https://
- Click Add Link
A whole day suits a provider with one gallery or video per day: one link, and every routine danced on that day gets it. The family sees it above that day's routines. Links only: a photo or video file cannot be tagged to a whole day.
A visitor who finds that routine in the event's media store sees your link beside it, next to anything other providers have for it. A routine with no link of its own uses your provider's store link, which the organiser sets. With link only selling, a routine without a link of its own is not listed for your provider at all.
To change a link, add it again: the routine gets the new one. To delete links, use Item links in the Gallery.
Pasting Many Links at Once
A videographer who names each file by the entry number on the programme can add every routine's link in one go, under Paste links on the Upload page:
- Paste one link per line, or click Load links from a file to read a text or CSV file of links
- Click Check lines (a file is checked at once). Each line shows the routine it matched, or what is wrong with it
- Click Save. The button says how many links are ready
The file name in the link is enough. When the file name at the end of a link starts with the entry number, the link alone goes to that routine: https://.../042-stardust.mp4 goes to entry 42, and so does a link ending in a folder named 042. Names are read the same way as for connected storage, so the file names on the Schedule page work here too. Only the end of the link is read: a number earlier in the address, such as a year, is never taken for an entry number. Matched lines say from the file name.
When a link's file name does not start with the entry number, type the number first: the entry number, a comma, then the link, for example 42, https:// followed by the address. A typed number always wins over the file name.
The entry number can be typed as it appears on the programme: 42, 042 and #42 all match entry 42. A number that matches no routine, or more than one, is refused rather than guessed, and so is the second line for the same routine. A routine that already has a link gets the new one.
Links From Your Nextcloud Folder
If your videos are part of the entry and stay on your own Nextcloud server, the organiser chooses Included, links from the provider for your provider. Each dancer's family then gets a Download button for the routines they danced, in their portal. The links are never shown in the public store.
- Put the videos in one folder, each named with its entry number first: 042.mp4 or 042 Stardust.mp4. Subfolders, for example one per day, are fine
- In Nextcloud, open Settings, Security, Devices and sessions, and create an app password for Kompdesk. Do not use your login password
- Open Settings in the menu on the left. Under the event, click Connect Nextcloud, enter the server address you log in at, your username, the app password and the folder, and click Save and check
- Kompdesk checks the folder straight away and lists what each video will link to. With Check for new videos every 30 minutes ticked, the links are created there and then; without it, you are asked first. Check files and Create links do the same again whenever you like
Kompdesk creates a read only public link on your server for each video and sets it as the routine's link. A routine that already has a link someone pasted keeps it. A name that does not start with an entry number, a number with no routine, or two videos for one routine are listed and skipped, never guessed. Remove a video from the folder and its link is taken away at the next sync. A link the sync made that you delete in the Gallery is not made again: its file shows as Link deleted, not made again, with Link again beside it, which makes that routine's link and no other. Tick Check for new videos every 30 minutes and new videos are linked on their own. The app password is stored encrypted and never shown again; revoke it in Nextcloud whenever you like.
Prices
Prices are set by the organiser. Where families buy per item, the organiser sets one price per item, covering every photo and the video of that item. You see the statistics but not the price controls.
Common Questions
Q: Do views of my own previews in the gallery count?
A: No. Only views through the media store and the participant portals are counted.
Q: Who pays me?
A: The organiser, under your own agreement with them. The platform never pays a media provider directly.
