Editing Results (Correcting Scores)

Correct per-judge criteria or totals for any already-scored entry from the Correct Results page.

Sometimes a judge enters a wrong score, misses a criterion, or you need to adjust a total after review. The Correct Results page lets you correct per-judge scores safely without asking the judge to re-submit.

Open it from the Event Dashboard sidebar → Correct Results.

Only Finalised Sections Appear

To protect against score drift between the paper results you hand out and what's on screen, the Correct Results page only shows entries from sections that are already finalised. That is, the section's schedule slot has been marked complete and no judge can still be submitting. Entries from sections still in progress are deliberately hidden.

A banner at the top of the page confirms how many sections are still scoring and which result-visibility settings are currently active (published / top-N hiding / reveal timing) so you have the full context before making a change.

Every edit is retroactive: changes will update Results, Awards, Certificates, and every participant portal immediately. Every edit is written to the audit log (SCORE_EDITED_POST_FINALIZATION or PODIUM_OVERRIDE_SET / PODIUM_OVERRIDE_CLEARED) so any later dispute is resolvable. Admins can review these under Admin → Security → Audit Logs.

What You Can Edit

The page has two tabs:

TabPurpose
Edit ScoresChange a judge's individual criterion scores or total for any already-scored entry
Podium OverridesLift podium threshold rules so a top-scoring entry can be placed 1st/2nd/3rd (see "Promoting Dancers Above Podium Thresholds")

Only entries that have already been scored by at least one judge and whose section is finalised appear here. Battle and placement-voting entries are not editable from this page. They reconcile through their own voting flow.

Finding an Entry

Use the four filter dropdowns to narrow by Age Division, Level, Style, or Performance Type. Each filter works independently. Leave any unset to include all values. Entries are grouped by section and sorted by entry number within each section.

Each row shows the entry number, routine, studio, how many judges scored it, and the average total.

Click Edit on any row to open the per-judge score editor.

Editing a Judge's Scores

The modal shows one row per judge who has scored the entry, with columns for each criterion and the total.

Changing a criterion:
Type a new value into any criterion cell. The total for that judge updates automatically.

Changing the total directly:
Type a new total into the Total column. The criteria are scaled proportionally so they still sum to the new total, clamped to each criterion's maximum. If the target exceeds the sum of all caps, a warning appears and the criteria are pinned at their maximums.

Values are clamped to [0, max] for each criterion. Saved scores round to 2 decimal places.

Per-row vs Save all:

  • Use the Save button on a single row to save just that judge's changes
  • Use Save all changes to save every edited row in one batch

Unsaved rows show a yellow "Unsaved" badge next to the judge name.

What Happens When You Save

Each save calls the same mutations judges use, so the data is indistinguishable from a normal judge submission:

  1. For each changed criterion → upsertEventEntryCriteriaScore
  2. upsertEventEntryScore with the new total, preserving existing nominations, comments, and hardcoded criterion fields
  3. All downstream views refresh immediately: Results, Awards, Certificates, public studio/dancer results, judge event view, and the organizer dashboard summary

If the entry was scored with the fixed criterion fields (Technique, Musicality, etc.) instead of dynamic criteria, the editor falls back to those fields automatically. Whichever style the judge used is preserved.

Good to Know

  • There is no "delete score" action here. To remove a score entirely, have the judge delete it or do it via admin tools
  • Edits do not touch battle / placement results
  • Changes cascade even to public share links and portal views. Expect dancers/studios to see new totals within a few seconds of saving
  • Use this power carefully. Edits are audited in the database but there is no built-in change log UI
